About

BioHenry Nienhuis is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Holland, MI. He recently graduated with a BA in Studio Art from Hope College in 2026. During his studies he focused on formal abstraction of everyday objects and space to explore the subconscious, invisible emotions that influence our perception of space.

His work has been featured in the Hope College Juried Student Showcase in 2025, as well as the annual Senior Art Showcase exhibition in 2026 at the De Pree Art Center and Gallery. He was awarded the Jon F. Kay Award for showcasing exceptional promise within the department. Recently, he has been focusing on combining sculptural and painterly techniques to create art objects, as well as using his practice to expand his methods in craftsmanship and fabrication. His latest work further showcases his exploration with those methods. Henry is currently a candidate for graphic design work and continues to explore his creative practice in hopes to work in the design field.
